VLC cannot play Sony XAVC 4K .mxf videos? This article will give you right direction to play Sony XAVC MXF files in VLC player.

I am working with Sony FS7 video camera that records in XAVC codec as mxf files-Same as the F5 or F55. However neither Quicktime 7 nor VLC Player will open the mxf files. I tried everything mentioned on Google. After countless tests, I found a simple way to play Sony XAVC .mxf in VLC player.

As a new video codec, the XAVC footage captured by Sony PXW-F5, F55, FS7, X70, etc are not supported well by VLC media player.
